Ziel der Studie struggle es, die Erwartungen der Eltern und Ärzte hinsichtlich der Kompetenzen der Pflegenden zu vergleichen, um mögliche Unterschiede oder Gemeinsamkeiten aufzuzeigen. Als Ergebnis der Forschungsarbeit konnte ein "Korrelationsmodell der Erwartungen an die Pflegekompetenz von Pflegenden aus Sicht der Ärzte" erstellt und mit dem entsprechenden Korrelationsmodell aus Eltern-Sicht verglichen werden. Die Kommunikationskompetenz ist das zentrale aspect der Erwartungen an die Pflegekompetenz aus Sicht beider befragten Gruppen. Die besondere Bedeutung für die Pflegekompetenz liegt in den sozialen und kommunikativen Fähigkeiten von Pflegenden. Die vorgestellten Korrelationsmodelle geben Aufschluss auf die Komplexität der Zusammenhänge der Erwartungen seitens der Eltern und der Ärzte.
